good card, no noise, heat is fair but best if you got a extra case fan, great with my HTPC. Too bad does not come with HDMI ouput.

I’m using this card for editing photos in Photoshop. It is completely silent (no fan) and gives a very crisp image. For reasons too complex to explain here, the operating system that I’m using is Windows Server 2003. I had an installation problem with the drivers CD that Asus supplied with the card (installer kept crashing). So I downloaded 8400GS drivers from the GeForce web site and they work fine.

I bought this card because the present video card fan was getting annoying. I saw this model was available and did some research as to how it might perform. It is silent. After hearing the fan from the other card for a year and then putting this one in, I am happy. The hard drive makes more noise (or at least I can hear it) now HAHA

I’ve been running this with MythTV for the last couple months. Its fanless and completely silent, and fully supported in linux.
